Compare to the L’oreal stains in this post. There is a faint stain, but nothing more than a reasonably pigmented lipstick would leave. In the swatch below, I left it on my arm for several minutes, then wiped it off. It also doesn’t stain very well – it’s nothing like the YSL Glossy Stains or L’oreal Shine Caresse stains. Of course, if I blot it enough, it will transfer less, but that’s true of any lip product. If I wear a normal amount without blotting, it transfers on to my coffee cup significantly – just as much as any non-matte lipstick, and more than a matte lipstick. I haven’t done an actual kiss test, but I assure you that this is not kiss proof. If I apply an extra layer, it takes to to actually glossy, but it’s still not high shine, and with the extra layer it is quite messy and transfers on to absolutely everything. If I apply a normal amount, it has a low shine finish – just slightly glossy, more glossy than a satin, but not what I think of as a high shine finish. To expand: the glossy stain does absolutely have intense color. However, as a long wearing liquid lipstick, it’s fantastic, and it’s a beautiful color – so despite the packaging, I really like it! Here’s a short version of my review: the glossy stain is not glossy, is not kiss proof, barely stains, and basically does nothing that it is advertised to do. The packaging is functional – the charm is securely attached, the wand is a good shape to apply the gloss, and the package is sealed - very important for drugstore products! Here’s a close-up of the wand it’s a similar shape to the other gloss stains I’ve tried. I’m sure some will like it, but it is just not my style at all – I like sleek, minimalist packaging, and this is just the opposite (the charm and ribbon are not easily removable, by the way). Second, I hate the packaging with the little charm attached to the gloss. The Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Glossy Stains come in only two colors – Red and Hot Pink, and I bought Hot Pink.įirst off, I hate the name of the “Sexy Booster” line of products, and the Sexy Glow name as well. So, when I saw a new Physician’s Formula product that claimed to be a glossy stain (and on sale for $3!), I knew I had to give it a try. I am enamored of gloss / stain hybrids lately – I love both YSL Glossy Stains and the L’oreal Shine Caresse gloss stains. How do you feel about the claims this makes and does it affect your decision to buy them (or not)? Horny Goatweed… 🙂Īvailability:, Ulta, Rite Aid, etc. I choose makeup because I like the shades and quality and packaging, not for all this other stuff, which seems a bit gimmicky to me. I honestly don’t care a lick about all that pheromone stuff, if it’s true or not.

The bronzer is a good one for lighter skin tones, but again, very shimmery. Aside from that the blushes are nice, soft shades, but they are super shimmery. It’s so cute that I was sent Light Bronzer and Rose for review, but I had to go out and purchase Natural because I wanted them both. Warm, but not too warm and definitely not too deep, orange or brown. It’s also duo-toned and together it creates a perfect shade for fair folks. The Light Bronzer is a really great shade for fair ladies (or men!). They are very shimmery and create a blush/highlighter effect at once. They aren’t SUPER pigmented, but softer, which is kind of nice. The blushes come with two shades (the shoe is a different shade) but these are all blended together, since they will wind up that way eventually anyway. Light Bronzer is a pale golden bronzer shade. They all conveniently have a little hidden storage area below that contains a mirror and applicator brush. Hmmm I don’t know about all that, but did I mention how cute they are? 😉

They are also all hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, paraben free and gluten free. It also contains vanilla and musk, as well as cocoa extract (the “love chemical”) and Androstadienone and Muricine Aglycone, which are clinically tested pheromone-like ingredients. So what on earth is that? It’s derived from ancient Chinese medicine and claims to be an aphrodisiac for men and women.

I am not kidding that’s what the press release says. Get this, one of them is called… HORNY GOATWEED.

So what makes this stuff so sexy? According to PF, they include a seductive fragrance and pheromone-mimicking ingredients. Sexy Glow Blushes come in Natural and Rose and the bronzers in Light Bronzer and Bronzer. Physicians Formula Sexy Booster collection for spring 2013 includes two new Sexy Glow Blushes and Sexy Glow Bronzers.
